Welcome to the home of the Chicago Riveters Women's Baseball Team.  We, along with three other teams - the Comets,  Skyline and Turtle Rocks - will take the field this summer in the new Chicago Women's Baseball League (CWBL). The 14-game season begins Sunday, June 1 and runs through the middle of September. All games will be played in Beford Park.

Rosie the Riveter World War II icon Rosie the Riveter is the inspiration for our team name. During the war, Rosie both encouraged and represented women who entered the "male" world of the defense industries. The baseball Riveters continue Rosie's legacy by encouraging other women to step on the "male" world of the baseball diamond and going out there ourselves and showing that "we can do it!"

See ya on the diamond or in the stands.

Riveters Fall Short
The weather was hot and so were the bats, as the Turtle Rocks defeated the Riveters 13-11 this afternoon. The game went back and forth, with 8 lead changes as each team battled toward victory. The Riveters loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh before the game ended on a controversial call at the plate. The Riveters banged out 13 hits, led by Smith and Saletta, who each went 3-4, and Oswald who went 2-2 with a walk. Go Riveters!

Riveters Second Victory
The Riveters are 2-2 on the season after defeating the Redbirds 28-6 this past Sunday. The team fell behind early, 5-2 after the first inning, but clamped down and held the Redbirds to just one more run while scoring 26 more of their own, 19 in the last two innings. In other words, it was a close one through five innings, but the Riveters didn't panic, just kept throwing strikes, making the plays on defense and swinging the bats on offense. Starting pitching Bianco settled down after a shaky first inning and threw three shutout innings, striking out 5 of 11 batters. Branske came on in relief and was sharp, allowing just one run. A nifty 1-2-3 double play ended the game. Pitching and defense win games, and the Riveters had plenty of both this day.

The Riveters pounded out 18 hits and drew 20 walks in the win. Smith went 5-5 with two doubles and 4 RBI, while Devane went 4-5 and drove in 5. Sianez and Branske also had extra base hits.
